About Shannon

Shannon Gill is a Strategy and People Consultant, Author, and Coach

She combines her decades of business and leadership experience with research in positive psychology and change execution to help organizations and individuals create conscious transformation during times of personal and business transition.  Shannon is the Founder of Guided Ventures Group and she is also the Strategy and People Development Leader for Crossing Point Consulting, a group of highly experienced executives supporting organizations with change and strategy execution.

Shannon’s desire to learn more about “what makes us tick” and how to find more fulfillment and purpose led her to tenaciously research and incorporate new techniques in mindfulness, intuitive intelligence, and positive psychology into her life.  Combining this experience with her strong skills in leadership and business, she now supports organizations and individuals to create strategies and programs that drive both business success and personal fulfillment for team members.  She also serves as an Executive coach, mainly focused on women.

In her 24-year corporate and business career prior to GVG and Crossing Point, Shannon worked in Strategy, Product, Learning and Development, Consulting (mostly in Europe), Operations and Manufacturing (in Hong Kong).  Companies included Walt Disney, Sylvan Learning System (e-Sylvan start-up), TSYS, U.S. Bancorp (Elavon), and her first position after Undergrad as the only Western employee for a family owned Chinese Watch Manufacturer.  During this time, she helped to establish three different functional organizations from scratch including Operations (200+ people), Learning and Development (12+ people) and Global Product (150+ people).  She also led direct reports for 21 of those 24 years, including an all Chinese staff while in Hong Kong.

Shannon has her MBA from Georgetown University in Washington DC, and her BA from St. Andrews College in Laurinburg NC (with a year at Stirling University in Scotland). She is also a facilitator of Development Dimensions International (DDI) leadership training, a certified Birkman Consultant, trained in McNellis Compression Planning, and a certified coach, in addition to several other credentials.

In addition to consulting and coaching, Shannon also works with educators and non-profits for children and families under the pen name “Shan Gill” through her Cosmic Kitty book series and merchandise.  The goal of Cosmic Kitty is to teach empowerment and self-worth to kids and adults through the adventures of the main character.  As time allows, Shannon speaks at conferences and teaches in schools and universities to inspire kids and future educators to follow their passion and look within for self-worth, strength and courage.

Over the years, Shannon has also worked extensively in her communities.  She was a Founding Member of the Board of Directors for the Greater Columbus Georgia Young Professionals, Chairperson for the Crystal Ball while on the Leadership Council for the American Cancer Society, volunteers at the City of Refuge in Atlanta, and created and facilitates Corporate and Community Coaching Circles for use in various non-profit organizations serving women.

She lives and plays in Atlanta, Ga. when not visiting family and friends around the globe.  You can also catch her in a yoga class or enjoying a favorite Disney movie with her niece and nephew.
